sitting at snow city cafe...
so here i am in anchorage. out of dillingham for a long, long time. for reals this time. i’m at snow city cafe drinking a pomegranate mimosa waiting for mary to get here for lunch. i hung out with grandpa this morning, showing him the lodge’s website that i’m working for. i emailed corey too, saying that i had a fun and random summer with him.
it’s good that i have a bit of a break right now before heading to germany. i think i need it.

i was eating breakfast with my people at snopac this morning. carmen and i were trying to figure out what day it is. “is it tuesday or wednesday?” she asked me. i replied “well, we were hungover all day yesterday, so that means the night before we were drunk. that means it had to have been monday because the liquor store is closed on sunday. so today is therefor wednesday.”
it’s so strange having the days drift one into another. people are starting to leave and everyone is celebrating because fishing is pretty much over. i went to bed at 7pm last night because i was hungover all day driving people back and forth from the airport to town to snopac. it’s been fun though. i’m going to miss everyone so much. but now i’m ready to leave dillingham, just like everyone else.

“ what a weird summer, ulu. we hardly saw each other at all. i definitely will spend time with aria before leaving since snopac is starting to shut down next week. ulu, we’re not going to see each other for at least 13 months!!!!! that’s the longest we’ve gone!!!!! maybe we could meet somewhere. how about iceland? we could go look at all their advancements in energy. truly a progressive country.

beautiful morning
i just got back from getting coffee at bristol. driving back up the hill, i looked at the scenery. the lush green tundra and mountains on the horizon. the breeze dancing with the leaves. families and fishermen walking on the bike path by the boat harbor. such a perfect morning.
work is chilled out this morning. nels and dorothy found me and i’m going to dinner with them this evening. ulu came and showered, i haven’t seen her in so long because i’ve been so busy at work! i should start thinking about my return flight, i need to be back in seattle august 2nd by the latest. and hopefully i can afford a new macbook with my pay raise before germany.
all in all, a good day so far.
